“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens,Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess” (Hebrews 4:14)

The resurrection of Jesus Christ was the pinnacle of history. The fate of mankind hinged on the this one event. And as Jesus was raised from the dead he ascended through the heavens past every authority and spiritual force in existence. Nothing they could do stopped the ascension of our Savior and they watched in horror as life defeated death once for all.

“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13)

At first glance this verse seems scary depending on your view of God. If you believe God is waiting for you to mess up then a verse like this can be terrifying. Or, if you believe you God is waiting for you to settle your sin account after death, then reading these words are less than reassuring. However understanding the context of this verse and God’s loving nature toward us in the person of Jesus, we should see how wonderful this message is.
