God is in the business of resurrection, that’s incredible news! Today as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus it’s a good time to reflect on what this means for us presently. My prayer is that you will take the time to commemorate, celebrate and personalize this event!

As I reflect on the resurrection this week, this verse has been playing repeatedly in my mind, “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification” (Romans 4:25). Here are three things that happened that changed history...

Lately, I’ve been working over this idea of abundance. Abundance can be defined as a ‘very large quantity of something’. Other words to describe it are plenty, affluence, profusion, opulence or wealth. From a human standpoint we like this idea, but I’ve been thinking about this from God’s perspective and how He is a God of abundance. What does this mean for us?

God created mankind out of abundance. While it is true He created Him to live in the abundance of the garden, when He created them it was out of His abundance. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit were enough in themselves. Perfect love, perfect fellowship and perfect union existed between them. In other words, there wasn’t something missing, a void that needed to be filled, rather there was an abundance of all of those things so God created man because of it.

Then, He went to great lengths to prepare a spot for humanity. He created the expanse of the universe, even the parts that we will never see with our telescopes or hope to explore, He rolled it out making the heavens limitless simply because He knew it was there (abundance). In the same way, He gave as much detail to the smallest elements of life. Science is just scratching the surface unraveling the mysteries of these things (abundance). Then God’s created everything between these two impressive, expanses of creations for mankind to live in (abundance). It was created by Him and for Him and in Him it is held together (Colossians 1:16).
